UMES Extension and ALEI are presenting this in-person workshop March 3-4 to help farmers better understand agricultural tax issues associated with managing a farming operation while complying with the complex network of laws and policies. The comprehensive eight-hour event, featuring experts from The Tennie Group LLC as well as ALEI Legal Specialist Nicole Cook, will be split between two days and will take place at the UMES Research and Education Farm in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Topics of discussion for the first day from 1-5 p.m. include:
Business Structure and Tax Considerations;
Tax Liability Issues and Helpful Resources; and
Everything Schedule F, Part I.
Day two, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., covers:
Everything Schedule F, Part II;
Agriculture Payroll; and
Financial Statements and Reviews.
The $25 registration fee includes educational materials, light refreshments and lunch on March 4.
