Legal Specialist with the School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Wele Elangwe is a Legal Specialist with the School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) serving the Maryland Agricultural Law Education Initiative (ALEI). Wele has experience working with the United Nations as programs officer and human rights consultant serving countries such as Cameroon, Rwanda, Gabon, Chad and a host of other countries. Wele also has experience working for several law firms. Wele’s legal training began in Cameroon where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) and a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in Business Law. Wele moved to the US in 2008 and obtained a Master of laws in International Law from the Robert Mckinney School of Law, Indianapolis, IN. Concurrent with serving as Legal Specialist for ALEI, Wele is the Student Services Coordinator for the School of Graduate Studies at UMES where among others, agricultural programs are offered at master’s and doctoral level.
